WHAT IS KETAMINE THERAPY TRAINING?

The Ketamine Assisted Therapy Program (KATTP) is a collaborative training offered by Ballen Medical & Wellness in partnership with the Colorado Psychedelic Practitioners Cohort. Participants of this training will get to explore the science, safety, and skillful presence needed to ethically guide patients through ketamine-assisted experiences.

COURSE STRUCTURE

This program is designed with flexibility in mind to accommodate students. It’s hybrid and includes live online classes, in-person experiential session, peer feedback, and an optional certification.

We've spent over 11 years optimizing the Ketamine Therapy experience to provide to our patients—now we want to share that knowledge through our Ketamine Therapy Training Program to empower you to do the same.

In partnership with the Colorado Psychedelic Practitioner Cohort, we've developed a comprehensive, collaborative and flexible Ketamine Assisted Therapy training program to enable more practitioners the ability to share this healing method with their own patients.

In order to create flexibility for those interested in becoming certified in Ketamine Assisted Therapy, we’re offering a few options for the class format and therapy type  to select from to best fit your needs and interest. 

WHAT IS LOW DOSE PSYCHOLYTIC KAP? 

Sublingual (lozenge) ketamine & talk therapy support

  • 8 online classes

  • 10 experiential sessions

  • Peer-led, supervision-supported


WHAT IS HIGH-DOSE IM KETAMINE FACILITATION

Transformational session using intramuscular administration

  • 3 online classes

  • 4 experiential IM sessions

  • Includes support from Dr. Beth Ballen & clinical team

You get full access to both Lose Dose Psycholytic KAP and High-Dose IM Ketamine Facilitation for a discounted rate.

Meet the Ketamine Therapy Training Team


Dr. Beth Ballen, MD

Dr. Ballen is one of Denver’s preeminent integrative mental health experts. In 2012, she became the first prescriber to provide ketamine treatment for depression and mood to the Denver area.Many of her success stories are complex cases where patients have tried different options — sometimes for years — but can’t find treatment that brings enough relief or results. 

Tony Shawcross

Tony is Certified in Trauma-focused Psychedelic Psychotherapy with specific training in Ketamine Assisted Therapy from Innate Path, Numinus, Zendo Project, Spirit Pharmacist, and Trauma Solutions. Tony works with low-dose and mid/high-dose psychedelics, incorporating modalities including IFS, SE, Gestalt, and Attachment RePatterning.

Avery  Collura

Avery is a trauma-informed practitioner with training in psychedelic psychotherapy. Her work blends low-dose psycholytic and high-dose journey sessions with modalities such as parts work, somatic experiencing, mindfulness-based integration, and attachment-focused care. She specializes in supporting grief, addiction recovery, and deep personal transformation using expanded states of consciousness.

What will I learn in the Ketamine Therapy Certification Program?

Participants of the Ketamine Therapy Certification Program with Colorado Psychedelics  Practitioners Cohort & Ballen Medical and Wellness can expect to learn:

  • Foundations of Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy
  • Pharmacology & routes of administration (ROA)
  • Holding altered & Non-ordinary states
  • Dosing protocols for low & high dose sessions
  • Session flow & facilitation presence 
  • KAP modalities (remote, in-person, group, self-guided)
  • Trauma informed care & consent
  • Documentation, integration, & prescriber collaboration
  • Risk management, screening & chaperone support
  • How much does it cost for the training and certification?

    Costs depend on the track you choose and all completions will result in a certification. See below for pricing by tracks:

    • Low-Dose Psychedelic KAP - $3,000

    • High-Dose IM facilitation - $1,250

    • Combination of both Low-Dose & High-Dose tracks - $3,625

    What is the training schedule for the program?

    Training dates will run August 13 - September 9, 2025. The Experiential portion of trainings will be scheduled based on participant and trainer availability. 

    • Online classes will be held Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5-7pm MT.
